Stamp Fairy Challenge #3

Whoops, little late putting this up! That's what being on vacation will do to you I guess. In fact, I was so lazy, I didn't even hunt around to see what other challenges were running! The challenge this week at Stamp Fairy is easy -

Celebrate!

This could be a birthday, wedding, New Year's, etc. Have fun and let's see what you can do!
A couple of firsts here for me - I've never made a New Year's card before and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. Do people give out New Year's cards?
Another first is the easel card - my girlfriend made me a cute one for Christmas, so I copied the design and couldn't be amazed at how easy it is. More of these in the future for sure!

Woo Hoo!

Just a quick yea me for me. (yeah, I'm not modest or anything!) I'm in the Spotlight at There She Goes stamps today! Go here to check it out. I love There She Goes Stamps - so much fun and funny too!

Stamp Fairy Challenge #2

It's getting awfully close to Christmas, so this week's challenge is super easy:

Anything goes!

I wasn't all out of holiday mojo yet, so I whipped up another Christmas card using a sweet Nelly stamp from Stamp Fairy. I don't have any girls, so pretty and girly cards are rare around here! It was nice to make a card with a friend's little girl in mind.

One of my goals over the holidays is to make a lightbox - it's too darn cold to take pictures outside anymore, and this photos just doesn't do the colours justice.

I'm entering a few challenges:
For kids - Cute Card Thursday
Scallops - Fun with Shapes
Christmas - Stampin for the Weekend
Die cuts - Stuck on U Sketches
Anything Goes - Allsorts
Colours - JUGS (totally didn't think I'd like pale blue, green and white, but it rocks!)
Sketch - Create 4 Fun

Stamp Fairy new release!

Aw, isn't this little kitty cute? His name is Kasi and he's the newest release at Stamp Fairy. He's actually a very busy kitty chasing a ball of string, but that didn't go with a Christmas card, so I gave him a Santa hat instead. (Perhaps he looks so perplexed because he's looking for his string? Hee hee!)
I coloured him with Copics (I apologize, I'm very, very new at this!) and added some Stickles to his hat and the border for fun. I'm on a bit of a Stickles kick right now.

If you want to grab Kasi, go here to see the whole Friday release. (I'm going to need Kasi and the mousehole)
PS - there's a Kasi freebie, too YEA!

Challenges:
Colours - Color Q
Sketch - CPS
Sparkle - Stamping with the Dragon
Non traditional Christmas - Cupcake craft
Bling - Stamping Royalty
Use 3 DP - The Crazy Challenge

Simple, snowy fun at Fab N Funky

More Christmas fun this week with Fab N Funky - maybe something to do with the fact that Christmas is just around the corner! This week's challenge is:

Quick and Easy Christmas

So let's see your last minute cards! Mine looks a bit complicated, but really, it's not. I tore strips of paper, embossed them and stuck them down. I added this cute image from Stampavie and a label and done. Don't you love it when a card comes out just the way you planned it?

PS - this weeks great sponsor is Stitchy Bear (I was bad and forgot to print some digis off!) so play along for your chance to win. And don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's great work. And it's the last challenge of the year - we'll be taking a break over the holidays, so I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Challenges:
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
colours - EAD Designs (cool vinyl wall art and sticker, check them out)
sparkle - Stamping Royalty, Stamping with the Dragon
ribbon - Frosted Designs

Christmas is coming

Yes, all you tardy shoppers (me included) Christmas isn't far away now. I don't know about you Brits, but here in Canada we can get a Christmas countdown ornament - it tells you how long until Christmas, right to the second. I don't know about you, but my boys are already excited enough, I don't think they need a second by second countdown! (they're 5 and 8 and they put the tree up and decorated, even dragging the boxes up from the basement)
So it's rather fitting that the Fab N Funky challenge this week is Christmas is for Kids. I used this cute image from Softpencil, glammed it up and made a fun banner.
There's a whole bunch of wintry, Christmas challenges this week, so here goes:
Christmas Colours - Stamp Something
Sketch - Jugs
Glitter - Frosted Designs
Blue - Cute Card Thursday
Turquoise - Daring Cardmakers
winter/Christmas - Lollipop, Dutch Dare, the Crazy Challenge, Pear Tree
Trees - Raise the Bar
lights - Allsorts

Almost forgot - I made the top 3 at the Crazy challenge last week, woo hoo!

Stamp Fairy DT Fun

Hi everyone, I know, 2 posts in one week, it's been a while. November and December are just so darn busy! If you're looking for the Fab N Funky bloghop, scroll down or click here.
I made this card because Stamp Fairy is having a DT call. I just love these bears, and so I thought I'd give it a try.
This one took me a few tries though. The first bear I mucked up by putting Stickles on dark blue snowflakes and they bled all over the place. They I coloured him with my brand new Copic markers. Hmm, interesting, it's obvious I'm going to need a lot of practice there! Third time's a charm I guess.
Due to the repeated attempts, I missed a bunch of challenges, but I think I've managed to squeak a couple:
Colours - Color Q
Feathers or Fur - Pile It On
Anything goes - the Crazy Challenge

And of course, the important DT call, here at Stamp Fairy. They've asked for 3 cards, so here's a couple of my fave's, this weeks birthday card for Fab N Funky and my first card using rolled flowers, it's just so pretty.

Happy Birthday Fab N Funky!!!

Wow, it's a big birthday here in blog land, Fab N Funky is turning one! And to celebrate the big day, we're hosting a blog hop with a ton of prizes, yipee! All the DT have created wonderful birthday cards to celebrate and we all get to give away goodies, how much fun is that?

I made a super sparkly, glittery winter birthday card, featuring a beautiful pre-coloured image from Fred She Said. Honestly, it doesn't get any easier than that, print and stick! And lucky me, I get to give away a prize from Fred She Said, a $25.00 gift voucher!! (See my close-up photo for the over abundance of glittery goodness!) To win, all you have to do is leave me a comment!

Photobucket

Now, if you haven't been to Fab N Funky yet, you might want to pop over there to start the hop, because you have to collect letters for a chance to win a prize on the challenge blog. I'm going to make things easy for you, your letter is:

R

As you hop around and check out the DT's awesome cards, collect the letters and leave comments on each blog for lots of chances to win!
You should have come here from Andrea's blog, but in case you're lost, here's a list of the links:

Anything Goes

I've been so busy these last couple of weeks, I almost forgot, it's Fab N Funky's first birthday party! To make sure we've got lots of time to get ready for the big event (prizes galore!) we've made this week's challenge an easy one - Anything goes!
I'm still having fun with last week's challenge, I've been digging up all sorts of stamps I haven't seen in a while. I bought these a couple of months ago, but only used them once. I'm also on a big clean and simple kick - the easier the better.

Challenges for this week:
colours - There She Goes
sketch - CPS
Thanks/Gratitude - Stamp Something, Raise The Bar
Butterflies - Oh Alice
circles - Crazy 4 Challenges
Staples - the Crazy Challenge
in 3's - Daring Cardmakers

Fab N Funky #49

Sorry I'm late, computer troubles at my end prevented me uploading my card last night. Too bad, cause things are starting to settle down here, and the mojo is slowly returning. I made this sweet and simple card which turned out exactly like I envisioned it - that hasn't happened in a while!

This weeks challenge at Fab N Funky is Forget Me Not...I know you have them, old stamps that are gathering dust, hidden away with some pretty awful patterned paper the the oodles of stickers we all had to have. I used a Stampin' Up stamp, no idea what it's called, but it's a set of 4 - circle, triangle, square and rectangle. I used the rectangle to stamp the background and then a nestie for the title block. I also stitched my letters, I love how this turned out and I know I will be doing it again.

So, let's see what stamps you have at the back of the closet - pull em out and get stamping!

Challenges this week:
Sketch - Everything but the Kitchen Sink
Colours - Curtain Call
Anything Goes - Cute Card Thursday, Fairytale Challenge (at least I think so, this one's mostly in German??)
Thanks - the Crazy Challenge, Frosted Designs
Clean & Simple - Dutch Dare
Sewing - Drunken Stampers
Use Patterned paper - Wee Memories (It's tiny, but it's there!)

Fab N Funky 48

Very tired... will fill in the details tomorrow...crazy busy with craft shows and home parties...seeing altered frames in my dreams...ZZZZ

Ok, I'm awake now! It's been pretty carzy around here, I had a crop planned for this weekend, but I had to cancel it, so I signed up last minute for a craft show and I've been making stuff like crazy to sell. I have a class next weekend and then another show the weekend after. Just warning you all that I won't be around much till December - then I'll be able to relax. (oh wait, I still have to make Christmas cards, eek!)

This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is Going Around in Circles. I went the easy route, and cut the biggest circle I could with my Nesties to make a card. (those Grand Nesties look like they'll make some great cards!) Coloured up this cute image from Stitchy Bear, who also happens to be this weeks sponsor, et voila. Can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Fab N Funky #47

OK, I totally apologize for flaking on everyone last week, sometimes the mojo just takes a walk and you need to take a break. I managed to zip round and leave comments on all your beautiful CAS cards, and that provided some inspiration for this week's card.
The challenge this week at Fab N Funky is a colour challenge:

kraft lime pink

I had this cute image from Softpencil, but wasn't sure how to colour in the leaves, so I ended up punching the leaves and adding some felt flowers. (Actually, hubby punched and I stuck, those CM punches are darn stiff!) I was going to add a sentiment, but couldn't decide, so I'm leaving it blank for now.
Don't forget, this week's sponsor is Softpencil, so let's see what you can do with these colours!
Challenges:
Use punches - 4 Crafty Chicks
Anything Goes - Wee memories
No Copics - Drunken Stamper (they're on the shopping list, but I don't have any yet!)

Have you seen my mojo?

If you find it, please return it ASAP, cause I need it!! Not sure what happened this week, Halloween overload or the fact that I'm waiting for a bunch of new stuff to come in, but I sure wasn't feeling it. Not like I don't have enough stuff already, but there's nothing like the thrill of a new stamp to get you creating!
On to more important stuff, like this week's Fab N Funky challenge. There was lots of amazing Halloween craftiness last week, so let's take it down a notch this week and go for some:
Clean and Simple
That's right, sometimes less is more. A little bit of embossing, a couple of buttons and volia - a simple card that only took me 2 nights to create! So let's see what simple goodness you can come up with this week!
Geez, almost forgot - Doodle Dragon is sponsoring this week's challenge!

Pretty peacock

Super quick post - somehow I always end up writing these late at night! I made this card for a co-worker's birthday and I hope she likes it.
The peacock stamp is from CTMH, and I got the idea of embossing and inking it from a fabulous CTMH consultant named Tresa Black. If you haven't visited her blog, go now, cause she does some amazing stuff! Mine is no where near as good as hers, but itstill turned out really pretty.
Challenges:
Colours - Curtain Call
Use ribbon - Stampin Royalty
Embossing - Heart 2 Heart
Use Ink - Stamping with the Dragon
Celebrate - Wee memories

Things that go bump in the night!

"Things that go bump in the night"

Halloween must be just around the corner, because there's a bushel of "Spooky" challenges this week, including Fab N Funky! We're looking for the creepiest, crawliest, spookiest creations this week and mine, well, maybe that vampire is a bit on the cute side, but hey, it's Halloween!
I could't help but make another card with this set from There She Goes, and really, the opportunity to use the phrase "you suck" on a card doesn't come up every day!
So lets see what cute and creepy cards you can come up with!
Challenges:
Sketch - Everything but the Kitchen Sink
Colours - There She Goes
Halloween - Stamp Something, Cuttlebug Spot, Pile It On, Frosted Designs, Fussy and Fancy, the Crazy challenge, By the Cute And Girly
Fall - Crazy 4 Challenges

Almost forgot - Bingo at Allsorts (bottom row, punch, tag and ribbon)

Crooked Ribbon

Why do we see every little teeny imperfection in our own work while overlooking the faults of others? I don't know, but all I could think about when I finished this card was how the ribbon was crooked. Ugh. Next time, more paying attention, less yakking!
Got a laundry list (hee hee) of challenges, here they are:
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
Colours/recipe - There She Goes
Use punches - Stamp Something
In 3's - Pile It On, Papertake
Birthday - Crazy 4 challenges
Songtitle - Allsorts ("Stuck in the middle with you" by Stealers Wheels and if you've seen the Hanes add, you'll know what I'm talking about!)
Anything Goes - Craftalicious
Girls/pink - Raise the Bar (not sure if this counts, it's not a girl, but girl's undies?)
Recipe - Lollipop Crafts (not sure about this one either, I have 3 embellies, 2 stamps, maybe more than one paper? How bout we call it 1 main paper?)

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy

It's challenge #44 over at Fab N Funky and this weeks theme is Yummy Yummy Yummy! That's good, as food is one of my favourite things (which you could probably tell if you could see my hips, hee hee!) These fun stamps from Elzybells crack me up - so much like my real life! Only a couple of challenges today, as I made this cards in the wilds of North Bay, with no internet access, not even dial up. (eek!) DH is working on rectifying the problem, so hopefully by Christmas, we should be surfing the net at my MIL's.
Almost forgot - this weeks challenge is sponsored by Stitchy Bear, so head on over and check them out!

Anything goes - Craftalicious
Monochromatic - Drunken stampers
In 3's - Pile It On, Papertake

Pigs are flying!

Two posts in one night, I amaze myself! This card actually came together very quick, I pulled out my new stamps from There She Goes and went to work. I don't usually make Halloween card, but I've got a girlfriend whose birthday falls at the end of October. Besides, how could I not ink this up?
Challenges:
Colours - Color Q
Fave Colours - Color Chef
Celebrate - Stamp Something (this is actually a birthday card!)
Cutie Patootie - Papertake (I think these mummies are just the cutest ever!)

Fab N Funky - Use a Digi

Well, this should be an easy one as there's hundreds and hundreds of digis floating around the web! I went with a cute one from Softpencil, this week's sponsor. Promise you won't look too closely at her belt (obi?), as it was late, I was tired and I didn't do a great job of the finicky bits! (should've put liquid glass on her hair too, it look grey!)
Challenges:
Sketch - JUGS
colours - There she goes
Anything Goes - Pollycraft
Books - Frosted Designs (Memoirs of a Geisha, love that book!)
Celebrate - Stamp Something, Heart 2 Heart
Digi - Papertake (choose your challenge, I picked November 2009)

This second card I made for a co-worker for her 12 year old grandaughter, who is a huge Taylor Swift fan. Not being a Taylor fan myself and seeming as 12 was a looong way back, I was a bit stumped. I ended up taking some inspiration from one of her album covers, and put some of the lyrics inside. My co-worker loved it, hopefully the 12 year old will too!

Challenge 42 I it Black or white? (with a twist!)

This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is Black and White (with a twist!), the twist being one extra colour. Easy huh? Well, I thought so too, and got right to work on a simple card featuring an image from this week's sponsor, Doodle Dragon. I do like the final result, although I'm a little worried it's a bit too "Shrek-ish". If you look really closely, you can also see where DH stuck his finger in the wet Stickles and smeared it!
So get to work, let's see your twisted creations!

Challenges:
sketch - CPS, Cute Card Thursday
Colours - Color Chef, Stamping with the Dragon (appropos, no?)
glitter or bling - Crazy 4 Challenges, Lollipop Crafts
Cute and charming - Pile It On
NO ribbon or buttons - The Crazy Challenge
Plain and simple - Allsorts

Crooked bows and all

This card is a little late - I should have posted it on Thursday, but life got in the way. We had a hoot last night at the local fair, and Thursday? Well, let's just say the couch was calling!
This is actually the second card of a pair for a friend with twins, one boy, one girl. Since I did a quote for the boy card, I scrounged around and found this cute quote from Stampin Up that I hadn't even inked up yet, shame on me!
The cute little girl is a freebie from Michell Perkett, isn't she sweet?
Sketch - Everything but the Kitchen Sink
Colours - Color Q
glitter - Little Red Wagon (look close, it's there!)

Quote me Happy!

It's that time again, time for a new challenge at Fab N Funky, and this week's is "Quote me Happy". So pull out your underused sentiment stamps or dust off a digi and let's see what you've got! I found this sticker at the bottom of my stash, and it fit perfectly with my card for a little boy. Don't forget, all the new DT are playing along this week so there's lots of inspiration for you.
And for even more inspiration, there's a gift certificate for Fred She Said for one lucky player.

Lots of challenges today:
Sketch - CPS and Stampin 411 (very similar)
colours - SPCC
use punches - Just Cute Bears
Transport - Cards 4 men, Cupcake Craft (do balloons count as transport, I hope so!)
Cute N Cuddly - Pollycraft
In the Air - Daring Cardmakers (balloons again!)
boys - Lollipop Crafts

Challenge #40 - Get the photo Vibe

Well, I don't know what pops into your head when you see this picture, but the first thing in mine was "confection". I can't believe this is actually a cake, it's so incredible! I decided to stay with the cake theme, and made a confection of my own for the challenge this week at Fab N Funky.

I stuck with a simple card, just the one layer, but I piled on the gold embossing, pearls and Smooch spritz to give it lots of glamour. (I took the 2nd photo so you could see how sparkly it is!

Hope my Mum and Dad like it, their anniversary is coming up soon. So let's get creative and see what you come up with this week!
PS - A big hello and welcome to the new DT members, don't forget to drop by and say hello!

Also entered this at Oh Alice - Trees and flowers

Sorry for the mess!

Sorry about the mess guys, my template crashed last night. Hopefully I will get this fixed up soon!

Update: After an hour of cursing and swearing, I think I have things straightened out. Blogger has made quite a few changes since last time I did this, and I'm incredibly frustrated right now, but it's done. Hope you like!

There she goes!

Boy, it's late, and I'm tired. Meant to post this last night, except hubby planned a meeting with the financial advisor and didn't tell me. Found out at 8:00pm when she showed up! Good thing I had the pure dumb luck to tidy up a bit, yikes!
So, short and sweet! New stamps from There She Goes, love em! Sketch from CPS and colours from There She Goes. I'm sure I could find a few more challenges, but I need to go to bed!

Fab N Funky #39 "What'eva"

This is an easy one this week at Fab N Funky - "What ever goes!". I went with a baby theme, albeit a slightly unconventional one. Who says baby cards have to be pastel? I have a shower for a good friend coming up, but I wanted something fun and cheerful - hence the pink and orange!

As an added bonus, one lucky player this week will get a prize from the wonderful Meljen's Designs! So let's see what you can come up with!

Challenges entered:
Sketch: 4 Crafty Chicks (new challenge blog, check it out!)
Colours: SPCC
Baby, New Beginnings: The Crazy Challenge, Allsorts
Pearls: Pals Paper Arts
Cute: Stamp Something
Sparkle: Oh Alice
Lots of Colour: Frosted Designs

These other 2 cards are a complete and utter scraplift from Papercrafts Magazine. I wanted to showcase the new CTMH colours and this card was perfect for the task. Just thought I'd show off a simple and graphic card, something I rarely do!

Material Girl (or boy!)

Say what? No, not that old Madonna song, it's the challenge this week at Fab N Funky! Interpret it as you want, but I went for a fairly literal version - giving this sweet little girl a ribbon dress all dolled up with pearls.
And since it's the beginning of the month, the sponsor this week is Softpencil so play along for your chance to win a super cute digital image!

This weeks challenges:
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
Colours - SPCC
for a little girl - Oh Alice
farewell to summer, summer song - Pile It On, Drunken Stampers
Circles - Frosted designs

Ooh, almost forgot, I actually put my name in a draw for some blog candy, so I'd better crow about it here! Thanh at Yummy Creations is offering some great candy, so head on over and check it out!

Fab N Funky #37 - Recipe Time!

Wow, I can't believe how many beautiful entries there were last week in our Flower Power challenge, I had a blast visiting blogs and checking out all the cards. I think the thing I like the most is how international it is - there's been players from the US, Britain, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Thailand and more. Bloggers from around the world, sharing their work - I'm sure there's a cure for World peace there somewhere, maybe we just need to open more craft stores!
Allright, enough rhapsodizing, this week's challenge at Fab N Funky is a recipe:

3 papers

2 embellishments

1 image

Easy Peasy, right? Oh, I almost forgot, this week's sponsor is Doodle Dragon Designs (Ihave a ton of Doodle Dragon stuff, I'm a sucker for Dragons!) and there's a cute digi image for one lucky player! So let's see what you can do with this recipe!

This is my second attempt at a card, apparently Doodle Dragon images don't play well with 'elegant' paper and I just couldn't make the card work. So tonight, I pulled out some fun, playful new papers from CTMH called Hooligan and went to town. Hope you like it!

Sketch - Everything but the Kitchen Sink
Blue/green - Cupcake Craft
Bling - Oh Alice
Digi image - Stamp Something
Ribbons/buttons - Lollipop crafts

Thanks for a neighbour

At first glance, this doesn't look like a typical thank you card - after all, it doesn't say thanks anywhere on the front. But I was trying to be cute, so the inside reads "that means Thanks in Dog!" Fun huh? I hope so, as it's for the neighbour who picked up our mail for us last week while we were away.
The paper is the new Echo park "summertime" line and the stamps are from There She Goes, a company I overlooked in the past. (crazy, I know!) Needless to say, I've had a change of heart and I love them!
Here's today's challenges:
Sketch - Dutch Dare (they're having a DT call!!)
colours - Color Q (little late for this one too, I hate it when I lose stuff!)
Buttons & Butterflies - Crafty catz (a little late, but I couldn't find my card reader last night!)
Animals - By the Cute and Girly

Flower power

This weeks challenge over at Fab N Funky is Flowers, so let's see what lovely, flowery creations you can come up with!
The challenge this week is inspired by our wonderful sponsor Craftbrulee, who has a shop full of beautiful embellies. One lucky player is going to win a great prize pack from Crafbrulee, so get crafting!

I've been wanting to try these rolled flowers for awhile, so I hunted up a tutorial and away I went. I did cheat a bit and lifted a layout from Papercrafts magazine, I was looking for the perfect way to showcase these flowers and I think this turned out great!
Everything is CTMH except the ribbon, it's a little sneak peek from the upcoming fall Idea book for you!

Ribbon Disaster AKA Fab N Funky #35

Don't look too closely at the ribbon on this card, I has a bit of a mis-adventure with it. I like to tuck the ends under, I don't like frayed edges or ribbon than comes unstuck. So I carefully wrapped the ribbon right round the front of the card. Well, what I thought was the front of the card. Turns out, I wrapped the ribbon round the whole card and I couldn't open the darn thing! I had to take the scissors to it, and although it's covered by a bow on one side, the other side's a little scruffy. Sigh...

Alright, 'nuff whining, on to the challenge! This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is to Use your Favourite Colours. Easy peasy! I went with a nice fall combo, rusty orange and green, perfect for a card for the teacher. Back to school is only a few weeks away (thank goodness!) and I'm planning on being prepared.
The cute dog stamp is from CC Designs and the other images are from a CTMH set called in the month of August.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Note: Sorry, forgot to add that I lifted this layout from a Paper Crafts magazine card - I keep a stack on hand for when I need some inspiration. In this case, I loved how the ribbon was threaded through the paper.

Well behaved ribbon

You may be wondering about the ribbon comment, but if you check out my Fab N Funky post for the 11th, you'll find out. Maybe I was less tired, or maybe I was just paying attention, but this ribbon went on a whole lot better!
Still not 100% on this card, I quite like the layout and the clouds, I just think the stamped image needs something. I did put a little Liquid Glass on the chicks, as I don't have any yellow flock.
(another reason to head to Michael's) If you have any suggestions, let me know.
This is all CTMH, except the stamps, they're Elzybells.

Wedding Bells

Don't mind the fingers in the photo, I made this last night and haven't had a chance to stick it onto a card yet! I got this cute digi stamp for free from Pollycraft, and I think I'm going to have to go buy some more cause these bears are so cute! Too bad I missed last week's Pollycraft challenge, which was weddings!
Challenges for this card are:
Sketch - Sunday Sketch & Stamp
Colours - Color Q
Weddings - Just Us Girls
Dressing up - Allsorts challenge
Animals - By the Cute and Girly
Circles - Little Red Wagon
Anything goes - Dutch Dare, Lollipop Crafts

Spotty and Dotty (Fab N Funky #34)

Hi all, this is going to be super quick as I am super tired - something about the day after a long weekend maybe?
Anyway, this week at Fab N Funky, the Challenge is:

Spotty, dotty and stretchy stripes

And what's dottier than a cute giraffe from Softpencil? I made him into a her with some pink markers, and voila, a baby card for a friend with a baby to be. One lucky player this week will win a voucher from Softpencil, so head on over to the challenge blog and get dotty!

Fab N Funky #33

I think I'm getting the hang of this DT thing, got all the bugs worked out, and I love it. Not only do I get to make cool cards for everyone to see, but I even get digis to play with, like this one from Some Odd Girl. Want one for yourself? Then play along with this week's Fab N Funky challenge:

Buttons and Bows

One lucky player will win a $10.00 voucher to spend at Some Odd Girl, woo hoo! Don't forget to check out all the Fab N Funky DT's great work too.

Not sure if those little knots count as bows, but I just couldn't work a bow onto my cool boy card. Just like my 7 year old, this boys got attitude - no time for bows! I love this diamond plate embossing folder too, it adds just the right touch.
A few challenges I'm playing in this week:
sketch - Sweet Sunday
colours - SPCC
use plastic - Pile It On (buttons)
distressing - Stamping with the Dragon, Raise the Bar
birthday - the Crazy Challenge

Under the sea!

Don't you just love it when you can play along with a whole bunch of challenges and they all seem to 'match'? This week there seemed to be alot of water-y challenges, so I pulled out some fishy stamps from My Cute Stamps and went to work. I hope this isn't too busy, I tend to lean toward clean and simple cards most of the time.
Challenges:
colours - SPCC (been awhile since I played here)
sketch - Pals Paper Arts
Pennants - Pile it On
Sea life, splish splash - Oh Alice, Stamping Royalty
buttons - Crazy 4 challenges
cute - Papertake Weekly (are cute and boyish mutally exclusive?)

Being green!

This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is Reuse/recycle. Of course the first thing I headed for is my scrap bin. It's full of bits and pieces of paper, and I found a nice turquoise piece that looked summery and went with this cute image from Digital Delights. A few more scraps later and my card was almost complete.
I'm not sure if it was reusing or recycling, but if you look closely, you can see some real sand decorating the beach - we live on what is basically a giant sand dune, and all I have to do to find sand is shake out my boy's shoes!
So let's see what you can reuse or recycle this week, one lucky player will win a gift certificate from Digital Delights! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Something fishy

I'm at work, so I gotta make this super fast. Playing around with these new Sweet Pea stamps last night, they're beautiful, but I definitely need to step up the colouring skills for these! She needs way more shading.
I made the card for my Dad who likes mermaids, but really, what guy doesn't love a girl who can get away with wearing just her hair!
Sketch - Wild Flower Wednesdays
Holiday Colours, non holiday card - Pile it On
Recipe - Stamp Something (1 patterned paper, ribbon and 1 image)
Squares - The Crazy Challenge
Gardens - Papertake Weekly (she's covered in flowers, does that count?)

PS, I took the photo with the flash on, the colours are a little off, but you can see the shiny purple pigment I used. I have no clue what it's called, it comes in tiny little pots and you use it like a watercolour.

Christmas In july

This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is Christmas In July. I immediately pulled out the Jingle paper pack and some stamps from CTMH, I love the colours, and it's so easy when everything matches.
I must admit though, that the sketch is not mine, I stole it right of the cover of Paper Crafts magazine! (no one will tell, will they? I also hope no one will tell that my brad is a little off center, I seem to be consistantly crooked when it comes to brads!)
I pop dotted the ornaments to make them stand out, along with the silver embossing. I love, love, love this set, it's losing some of it's stick I've used it so much!
Anyway, can't wait to see what you all come up with this week, it's never to early to start planning this year's Xmas cards!

Still too hot

Yeah, it's still too hot around here, but after an evening spent in the dark doing nothing, I said to hell with it and dragged the biggest fan we had to my craft table!
I made this card for a friend - I know she'll appreciate the sentiment as much as I do!
Sketch - Heart 2 Heart
colours - Color Q
Fave things - Pile it On (cookies!)

Fab 'N' Funky!

So here's the big news - I am now officially a member of the Fab N Funky DT! I am very excited to be chosen, and I hope you will all play along with me for a Fab N Funky challenge. This week's challenge is Shaped Cards, and one lucky player will win an image from our sponser, Softpencil.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge, as soon as I saw the cute pooches from Softpencil, I thought about a dog bone. I kept the shape simple, added some ribbon (dog collar) and the puppy image. (dog tag, get it? hee, hee!)
Cardstock is CTMH, striped paper is CM, ribbon from Walmart, alpha stamps and button from CTMH. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Feeling hot hot hot!

Wow, it's like a bazzilion degrees here in the shade (and yes, I'm sure that's a real number!) and it's too hot to do anything, even craft. I did squeeze this card out, but I think that will be for a few days until it cool down. Man, I wish we had central air.
The stamp is one I just got from Elzybells Art Stamps, can't wait to use some more they are so cute! Can someone please tell me though, why it costs less to ship from the UK than the States?
Why oh why does it cost like $15.00 bucks to cross the border when I can get stuff across the ocean for $5.00? Just one of the many mysteries of life I guess.
Anyway, here's the deets:
Sketch - CPS
colours - Color Chef
fave things - Pile it On (colouring!)
Up in the air - The Crazy Challenge (balloons)
