Thank you, thank you...

I've started offering my card making services at work, so I've been making thank you cards like crazy for our lovely receptionist. Next up, I'm going to try my hand at some sympathy cards, which will be a new challenge for me.
The card is very loosely based on the Sweet Sunday sketch, and the colours are from Colour Q. The overall design is lifted from a valentine's card I saw in Creating Keepsakes, I quite like the effect, simple, but still interesting. What do you think, does the 'thanks' stand out enough? Hope so!

More frogs

Can't help it, these frogs by penny Black are just too cute, I have a sudden and strange desire to put frogs on all my cards! Hey, everyone likes frogs, right?
Anyhoo, I had fun with this one. I picked up an issue of Papercrafts magazine, as I've been wanting to make my cards better, so I snagged a few ideas to try. No worries, no major theft, just a few new (or new to me!) techniques to play with.
Sketch is from CPS, colours are from SPCC, Lil Red Wagon and Pink Elephant were looking for ribbon, Pile it On was looking for flowers and Stamp Something was looking for something Spring. (frogs are spring-y, right?
Off to bed, see you all soon!

Showers of Joy

Apparently, I need more wedding stamps, cause I have exactly zero! I volunteered to make a wedding shower card for a co-worker, but was somewhat stumped by my lack of wedding-y stuff. So I made do with this cute CTMH set which features umbrellas and boots.
The colour scheme is from the Colour Chef, (although I added a splash of green) and the sketch is from both Sweet Sunday and the Kitchen Sink. Great minds do think alike, as proved by this sketch.
Short and sweet today, gotta go make the kids lunches, have a great week!

Go Canada Go!

Well, the general theme this week seems to be love, but I just wasn't in the mood to make a Valentine's card. Instead, I made a We Love Canada card, in honour of the Olympics and the fact that I just got this cute new stamp from High Hopes/Dustin Pike. I have a lot of his digital stamps, but as soon as I saw the Canadian flag I knew I had to have this one!
Stamp Something, Stampin Royalty and Pile it On were all looking for love, and Doodle Dragon had a red, white and black colour scheme. The sketch is from CPS.

A very cute frog

What a great weekend, tons of food, no kids and tons of time to scrap. Wish I could do that more often! I got lots done, and even made a card with these stamps I got at Auntie Em's scrapbook store. They're call Toadily from Penny Black, and they are toadily cracking me up! Love em. I was a little short on challenges so I used the Colour Chef's green and pink again (which went really good with frogs) and a sketch from CPS. Most of the challenges were Valentine's/hearts this week, I will have to try that next, especially since there's a frog with a heart in my new set!
(Sorry, getting carried away there!)
Anyway, I do have to apologize for the crooked picture, I have uploaded it 3 times and can't make it straight, this has never happened before. If you have any ideas let me know!
PS, this is a layout I did this weekend, very simple, but I loved my son's expression and wanted to showcase it. evrything in the layout is CTMH.

A very late Birthday card

Whew, meant to get this up last night, but I couldn't get near the computer. Now I have to fight my husband and my oldest son for screen time, sometimes even my little guy. I don't know how we'll manage as they get older, I suspect a second computer might be a necessity at some point!
I made this card for a friends little girl who shares my son's birthday. Unfortunately with all the hoopla, I forget completely.
I still haven't figured out where to stick a message, I might just put something on the inside as I seem to have run out of room on the front.
The sketch is from CCEE, the colour scheme is from the Colour Chef. (pink and green, I love it!)
Definitely "not winter colours", which was the challenge at Pile It On this week, and pink for the Pink Elephant.
I'm scrapping all weekend and really looking forward to it, so I'm off to pack. See you next week!
