Stamp Fairy #12

This week, the challenge at Stamp Fairy was a tough one for me.

Anything But A Card

I don't do 'altered' items, so I was pretty lost as to where to start. (No idea why not, I just don't!) I could've done a scrapbook page, but it seemed to miss the point of a 'challenge'. So I hunted around and vistited a bunch of blogs, and finally came up with this little glass jar that I could gussie up. I think it turned out OK, but there's a few things I'd like to change if I get around to it.
Don't forget to visit the DT and see what they're up to, you know it's going to be good!

PS - what would you use for antennas? I cut out the bear and the bees, and the bees ended up without antenna cause I couldn't think of anything to use. Hmm, maybe a trip to Micheal's is called for!

Challenges entered this week:
Animals - Little Red Wagon
Flowers, handmade flowers (I layered pre-made flowers to make one big bloom) - Stamp Something, Allsorts, Stampin B's, Simply Create, Crazy 4 Challenges (gee, everyone must be
feeling spring-y!)
Metal - Frosted Designs (I liked the metal lid of my jar and decided not to cover all of it)
Spring - Paper Cutz
Bears - 2 Sisters
Sweet Treats - Saturday Challenge

Recipe Time

Well, as my hubby will tell you, me and recipes - not so good. I have a tendency to 'improvise' sometimes with very interesting results. Luckily, with cards, the improvising usually turns out for the better! The 'recipe' this week at Fab N Funky is:

1 image 2 embellies 3 papers

We're counting different cardstock colours as paper, right? And the ribbon/button combo and the arrow combo count as 2 right? Hee hee, even if I didn't follow the recipe exactly, it still turned out cute! Check out the rest of the DT and see if they followed the recipe better than I did!

Challenges I played with this week:
Sketch - CPS
Colour - EAD designs (well, I didn't use the gold, but otherwise got all the colours - that's me improvising again!)
Birthday - Stamping with the Dragon (k, I know it doesn't say birthday, but it is!)
For the Boys, boy colours - Craft Your Passion, Paper Sundaes
Dots - Do You stack Up
Chocolate - Polka Doodles (chocolate coloured?)
Childhood Dreams - Pile It On (who hasn't wanted to be a jungle explorer?)

Stamp Fairy #11

Hey there, hope you're having a crafty, creative week. In between bouts of Lego building for my boys I have actually managed to get some crafting done. Hopefully they'll be in bed soon, so I can get some more done!
This weeks challenge at Stamp Fairy is a colour challenge, some nice bright colours for this dreary time of year. We want to see:
Red, Turquoise and white
I decided not to overload my card, and instead went for a neutral background with pops of colour. Now I just need one of my son's buddies to turn five so I can give this to him!
Check out the rest of the DT's work, fab as always, and don't forget to grab some Stamp Fairy images to play along!

Challenges played along with:
Bold and bright, funky - Simply Create, Stamp Something
Birthday, Kids birthday - If the Shoe Fits, Paper Cutz
For the Boys - Craft Catz
Sparkle, glitter, bling, shiny - Cute Card Thursday, Dutch Dare
Get wordy - Our Creative Corner
Use dies - Crazy 4 Challenges

DIY embellies!

Ok, I am officially "Valentined" out! Too much pink/heats/lovey dovey for my tastes, my DH would probably keel over if I gave him a really mushy card - most definately not me! So for this week's challenge at Fab N Funky, I broke out some bright and chipper paper and had a go at making my own embellishment. (Which, by the way, is this week's theme!)

Make your own embellishment

I been a lurker at Dawn McVey's blog for awhile now - she has a style that's very much 'hers' and she makes a lot of layered tags. That's what I was aiming for here, although I don't think I quite got it! (Possibly cause she usually doesn't stick cute bunnies in the middle of her tags!) Still, the card turned out very cute.
The cute bunny is courtesy of Di's Digi Downloads, they're sponsoring us this week, so stop by and grab a few digis!
I only entered a few challenges today as there's still a whole bunch of Valentines floating around out there!
Sketch - Crafty Ho's (sorry, this just makes me giggle!)
Anything goes - Stampin with the Dragon
Fave colouring Medium - Lollipop Crafts (Prismacolours and solvent, until I figure out this whole Copic thing!)
Use ribbon - Do You Stack Up?
Bright colours - Simply Create
No sentiments - Drunken Stampers (not sure if I count for this one or not, I don't really consider 'hello' a sentiment, but I'm not the one making the rules!

Tempting Texture

The challenge this week at Fab N Funky is Tempting Texture...something that just makes you want to reach out and touch. I completely and utterly forgot what the challenge was and finished my entire card only to realize I had NO texture. Ack! Luckily I was able to peel my layers apart and throw a few through the Cuttlebug. I love embossing folders - they just add that nice touch of texture without being too showy or in your face, and they added the finishing touch to my cute Valentine's card.
I used this cute penguin from our sponsor this week - Robyn's Digital Fetish and coloured him red for Valentine's Day. Then I added a stamp from There She Goes to finish it off, I've had the stamp set for awhile and never used it, shame!
Whole bunch of challenges going on, hope I got them all cause my $1.50 bottle of knock off Stickles exploded all over my notes last night. Guess you get what you pay for!
Sketch - CPS, Pollycraft (very similar sketches)
Red - Stampin Celebration, By The Cute and Girly, Cupcake Crafts, Do You stack Up?
Free for all - Pear Tree, Stamping with the Dragon
Love, Valentines - Pink Elephant, the Crazy challenge
Use 2 images - Paper Sundaes
Hearts - Stamptacular Sunday, Paper Playtime, Polkadoodles
