Another fun layout

Woo, I'm really on a roll with the 'funny' layouts these last few weeks. Not really something I planned, it just worked out that way. I took these photos of our trailer in it's "temporary" parking spot - we were going to put in into storage, but never quite got around to it. It's now almost the end of April, and DH needs to get it moved back onto the driveway!
This is my last layout for Lasting Memories DT call, this week's challenge was a sketch and I've got my fingers crossed they like it!
Other challenges:
Distressing - 4 Crafty Chicks
Recipe (stripes, distressing) - Catered crop
Colour scheme - Color Throwdown

Red, white and Blue

The challenge this week at Fab N Funky is a great colour challenge:

Red, White and Blue

I tend to avoid this combo because it really screams 4th of July to me. (And as a proud Canuck, I'd rather do just red and white!) But it's really a fun, versatile combo and by minimizing the red and adding a dash of orange, it makes a great birthday card! I kept it simple to use as a birthday card for one of my boys little friends, with 2 boys there seems to be a lot of birthday parties to go to!

Our sponsor this week is Pink Cat Studio, so be sure to check them out after you visit the rest of the DT!

A few challenges I played along with this week:
Colourful - Pear Tree
Fun And Games - Pollycraft (they're off to play party games!)
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
Friends - Paper Playtime (they sure look like friends to me!)
Layers - Craft your Passion
5 layers or more - Stamptacular Sunday challenge (If you count my party tag, there's 5!)

A prolific weekend

Whew, I managed to get a whole bunch of scrapping done this weekend. I finished off a couple of layout and whipped up 5 or 6 cards, which is quite a feat for me!

This first card I made for no other reason than I just got some brand new Lily of the Valley stamps in the mail and I couldn't wait! These little mice jumping up and down on the sifter totally crack me up - I will be using this stamp again for sure! The card isn't quite finished, you may have noticed that. I'm going to fill in the tag when I have a recipient in mind.
Challenges:
Sketch - Sketch Saturday
Animals - Fun with Shapes and More

These second cards are for my wonderful roomies from last weekend's Regional Celebration - it was very sweet of them to take me on and make me a part of my first CTMH event. I finished up an older kit I've had for awhile, it was a special and now I'm debating if I want to buy more in the form of a paper pack. The paper is so pretty...but I don't need it...but it's blue and green, my fave combo...aagh!
Anyway, while I debate, here's a few challenges for the Thanks for everything card:
Sketch - Eat Sleep Stamp (OK, I cheated a bit, my paper had stripes on it already)
Pleated Paper/ribbon - CCEE Stampers
Birds, Butterflies - Frosted Designs

Recipe Time Again

It's challenge day again at Stamp Fairy, there were so many great entries last week! Don't forget, to be eligible for a prize, you need a Stamp Fairy image, so head here to get some! The challenge this week is a recipe, and if you look closely at my card, you might notice that I took a little detour!
The recipe is:

3 patterned papers, 2 dies and sparkle

I only managed to squeeze in 2 patterns, they were very strong and adding a third would have been totally overwhelming on such a small card. I got everything else though! Stop by the challenge blog here and see what the DT have done with the recipe and of course, to play along!

A few other challenges:
Animals - Fun with Shapes
Recipe (Flowers, button and sparkle) - Stamp Something
Sketch - Clean and Simple

Easter fun

Well, I never thought an Easter layout would be a tough one. Since Easter isn't till this weekend, and I've already done last Easter, I had to go back awhile to find some pics! These are a few Easter leftover pics - taken after all the excitement and chocolate. I thought it made a pretty funny page!
So the challenges for the week are:
Easter - Lasting Memories
Back in the Day - Scrap Fit (these are 2 or 3 years old)
Raise A Smile - Crafty Ann's
Springtime - Totally Paper Crafts
Easter - Pear Tree

Here Comes the Bride

Taking a break from Easter, we're onto another Spring favourite this week at Fab N Funky -

Weddings!

It's the season for over the top bridesmaids dresses, expensive presents and someone's drunken uncle on the dance floor, aren't weddings great? I am actually going to give this as an Anniversary card - I'm going to need a couple in May. It turned out really great, I'm just loving this cute sketch. Also loving the cute new stitch stamp I got this past weekend from CTMH - real stitching looks lovely, but you can't beat a super quick stamp job! And no, I didn't intend to do 2 pink cards in a row, it just turned out that way!

So let's see your sparkle and tulle, glitter and glam, it's time to get some wedding on!

A few challenges this week:
Lots of Layers - Cupcake Craft
Wedding - Polka Doodles
Texture - Paper Sundaes (embossing)
Cute Sketch - Lollipop Crafts
Scallops - Do You Stack Up
Monochromatic - There She Goes
Rubber Stamps - Pile It On (the wedding dress is an SU rubber stamp)
Inspiration photo - My Partner in Crafting Crime (pink, cream, wedding)
Kraft - The Spotted Chick (Yea kraft!)

Pink and Pretty

Hi there, time for another great challenge at Stamp Fairy - this week's is to Go Girly! Surprise, surprise, with 2 boys I don't do lots of pink, so I whipped up a cute little card for a friend who's just had a sweet baby girl.
Only one challenge this week, I actually managed to do this card early as I was away for the weekend in Toronto at a CTMH Regional celebration. I had a great time, learned a whole bunch of new stuff and made some cute art, but now it's time to get back to work!

Spring has Sprung (blossoms, baseball, babies, etc) - Stampin Royalty

A favourite story

First up, big apologies for not having a Fab N Funky post this week. Lack of foresight and planning have left me overbooked, overworked and with no card. I will have to make an extra nice card next week to make up for it! If you do want to play along, it's an easy challenge, Spots and Dots.
I was going to skip this week's challenge at Lasting Memories, too, but since I'm applying for the DT, I thought that would be a very bad thing! I have used a layout I did a couple of weeks ago, I thought the funny story fit the journalling challenge perfectly!
A few other challenges I thought this fit with:
Childhood Memories - Paper Sundaes (he might want to forget this at some point, but I won't let him!)
Follow the recipe - Catered Crop (stripes/spots, red/green/blue/yellow, boy theme)

Easter's a comin'

Bunnies are hopping and eggs are springing up everywhere, it must be just about Easter! And we're celebrating Easter at Stamp Fairy, but not with a card! Let's see your baskets! Or tags or, heck, whatever else you can stick candy in!
I found a ton of basket tutorials, but I thought this woven 'picket fence' basket was super cute. I ended up using paper instead of ribbon as the weave to make it stronger, but it turned out very cute! Now I've just gotta find some eggs to pop in it and it's good to go.
Check out what the DT have been up to, some very cute stuff, I'm sure!

A few challenges:
Spring has Sprung - Dutch Dare, If the Shoe Fits, 2 Sisters
Easter - Fun with Shapes
Anything but a square - Allsorts (I think this fits!)
Easter critters, egs, etc - Paper Cutz

Pretty as a peacock

As promised, here's the layout I was working on. It's a picture I took in the spring last year that I really loved, but never got around to scrapping, even when CTMH introduced this gorgeous peacock paper. Wasn't really sure what to journal about, I ended up writing about my photography skills and how this shot was achieved!
The challenge at Lasting Memories this week is 'Spring' so I thought my spring peacock would be a good fit. I'm also going to apply for their DT position, if that doesn't get me scrapping more layout, nothing will!
I found another fun challenge site with a mission, this one to get you journalling more. Once Upon a Sketch. They had a great sketch and I jumped right in. I didn't count my words, but I'm pretty sure I'm over 25!
Last but not least, Wee Memories is having a colour inspiration challenge - I don't have a fave colour, I just love so many, but the rich blues and chocolates in these papers are gorgeous!

My very first sketch!

I've been with Fab N Funky quite while now (thanks girls!) and the whole time I've been there, we haven't done a sketch. So when Lou asked us to create some sketches, I thought why not? and started playing around in Paint. Maybe it's not the most professional looking sketch out there, but I think it turned out pretty good, and I love, love, love how my card turned out. There were quite a few flowery challenges this week, so I piled on lots of blooms, added my fave butterfly stamp from CTMH (seriously overused, but hey, it's soo pretty!) some bling and voila!

Head on over to the Fab N Funky blog to see what the DT have done with my sketch, and then get crackin, I want to see what you do with it! Have a great week!

Challenges this week:
Romantic and Fancy - Pile It On
Showers/Flowers - Heart 2 Heart
Cute & Girly - By the Cute and Girly
Photo Inspiration - Stampin' Celebration (pink, orange)
Flowers - Crazy Challenge
No patterned paper - Polka Doodles (No DP, not a scrap!)
Spring Blossoms - Paper Sundaes
Happy Birthday - Fairy Tale Challenge Blog
Buttons, Bling, Blooms - Stamptacular Sunday (Got em' all!)
Anything Goes - Craft Your Passion

Check back tomorrow, I have a layout to post and I hope to have it up soon!

Gettin' Sketchy with Stamp Fairy

A great sketch this week at Stamp Fairy, Gerda always does awesome work. I followed this one pretty closely, and I had a bunch of fun colouring and cutting out carrots for the background. Of course the kids wanted to help, so it's a good thing I printed lots! There is some sparkle on the egg, but it doesn't show up very well in the pic. I also left it with no sentiment, I wasn't sure where to stick it, and it's pretty obvious it's an Easter card!
If you haven't already been, head over to the challenge blog and check out what the DT have done with the sketch, wonderful things I'm sure. And if you need some Stamp Fairy images (of course you do, they're so cute!) head on over here.

Some challenges:
Use a digi - Stamp Something
Easter - Fun with Shapes, Paper Cutz
Sewing - If the Shoe Fits
Bling - Frosted Designs (it's there, look close!)
No DP, Stamp a background - Stampin' B's (OK, not sure about this one, I used digi's to make my background, does that count? I originally stamped the background, but it looked to formal for the bunny, so had to change it up)
123 recipe - Paper Variety (1 cute bunny, 2 digi stamps, 3 die cuts)
